Jalapeño Popper Grilled Cheese

Liven up lunchtime with this appetizer inspired grilled cheese.  Jalapeño poppers add a little crunch and a little spice to make an ordinary grilled cheese extraordinary.  We’ve paired it with Campbell’s® Slow Kettle® Style Fiesta Lime Tortilla Soup for a combination that’s anything but boring.

Cooking Directions

  • Butter one side of the bread slices.  Layer the cheese and poppers between the bread slices (keeping the buttered sides on the outside).
  • Heat a 12-inch skillet over medium-low heat.  Cook the sandwiches for 2 to 3 minutes or until golden brown and the cheese is melted, turning over once halfway through the cooking time.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 4 slices Pepperidge Farm® Farmhouse™ 12 Grain Bread
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese
  • 6 frozen breaded cream cheese-stuffed jalapeño poppers, prepared according to package directions and sliced crosswise
