Caprese Salad

Caprese salad is all about simple but high-quality ingredients.  Red, ripe tomatoes, the freshest mozzarella and fragrant basil leaves mingle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.  This salad is typically layered but ours is a chunky version for easier eating alongside your favorite soup.

Cooking Directions

  • Place the tomatoes, cheese and basil into a medium bowl.  Add the oil and vinegar and toss to coat.  Season to taste.

  • 1 cup grape tomatoes cut in half
  • 0.333 cup cubed fresh mozzarella cheese or small mozzarella balls cut in half
  • 1 tablespoon thinly sliced fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
