Apple-Kissed Turkey Burgers

Cooking Directions

  • Heat the broiler.  Spray a broiler pan with vegetable cooking spray.
  • Thoroughly mix the turkey, apple, green onions, lemon pepper, salt and apple pie spice in a medium bowl.  Shape the turkey mixture into 4 (3/4-inch thick) burgers.
  • Broil the burgers 6 inches from the heat for 10 minutes or until cooked through, turning them over once halfway through the broiling time.
  • Heat the chili sauce and jelly in a 1-quart saucepan over medium heat until the mixture is hot and bubbling, stirring occasionally.
  • Top the burgers with the chili sauce mixture.  Serve the burgers on the buns.

Ingredients

  • 0.75 pound 5% lean ground turkey
  • 0.5 cup chopped peeled apple
  • 2 green onion, chopped (about 1/4 cup)
  • 0.75 teaspoon lemon pepper seasoning
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.125 teaspoon apple pie spice or 1 pinch each ground cinnamon and allspice
  • 0.5 cup chili sauce
  • 0.5 cup Smucker's® apple jelly
  • 4 Pepperidge Farm® Soft White Hamburger Buns, split and toasted
